Abstract

The article substantiates the need for interactive thinking competencies formation and transition from translation model of knowledge transferring to communication model of project thinking in subject-oriented education. The discipline "Urban Landscape Design" appears as an experimental playground for open-air educational spaces design process. Contemporary problems of discipline, its role in the formation of highly qualified designer, actual topics, goal and tasks of the pilot design, its sequence and summary are reviewed. The article considers that the university campus, created on the principles of ecological design, dialogistic and semantic fullness of educational space is capable to become the modern learning environment of the new century.
